A pilot project for the Accountability Framework for Routine Immunisation in Niger State, Nigeria (July, 2014)

As part of the Nigerian Government’s efforts to improve Routine Immunisation programmes within the country; the Accountability Framework for Routine Immunisation (AFRIN) was developed in January, 2013. This framework, when implemented; will ensure: goal-directed expenditure, results-based performance monitoring, re-defined roles and responsibilities, synergistic alignment of resources, transparent reporting and data management, amongst other advantages.

Thus, Preston Associates for International Development was contracted by the Institute of Vaccine Access Centre, John Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA to jointly conduct a formative study aimed at assessing accountability mechanisms in Niger state, Nigeria to inform the implementation of AFRIN in the state.
