Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Accountability workshop for Jigawa and Kano States’ stakeholders (April, 2013)

Given the importance of Accountability for monitoring progress; Evidence for Action (E4A) contracted Dr Nkem Ene of Preston Healthcare Consulting Ltd. to facilitate a two-day workshop aimed at eliciting the Terms of Reference for an Accountability Framework for MNCH in Jigawa and Kano States, Nigeria. On the first day of the workshop; MNCH Priorities requiring the spotlight of Accountability were agreed upon while on the second day; the new Accountability mechanism’s roles, responsibilities, and Governance structure were defined.

Thus, Preston Associates for International Development was contracted by the Institute of Vaccine Access Centre, John Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA to jointly conduct a formative study aimed at assessing accountability mechanisms in Niger state, Nigeria to inform the implementation of AFRIN in the state.
